At York Postal Harriers our aim is to provide the opportunity to run for all levels, whether you want to build up to your first parkrun or take on an ultra marathon. York Postal Harriers was set up originally for postal workers. We still have a number of first class postal runners in our ranks but now welcome runners from all backgrounds. We take our running seriously and are keen to develop ourselves with structured training available every Wednesday evening. We also place a huge emphasis on having fun and supporting each other, together we are stronger.

Mark Whitby
Club coach
Mark has the Coach in Running Fitness qualification. He leads many of our Wednesday night structured training sessions.

Mark says: “Attending training makes a difference and helps you build relationships with the rest of your club mates that will pay dividends during the season.”

He delivers sessions that are suitable for all levels of runner. They're hard work but enjoyable, come along and see for yourself.

Becky Penty
Club coach
Becky is a qualified athletics coach and an event group lead in endurance with England Athletics.
She's been coaching for nine years, having got into it because of the positive experiences she's had as a runner and coaching allows her to share her enthusiasm for running with others.
Becky said: “My coaching philosophy is simple: enjoyment comes first.“I believe that when runners enjoy what they’re doing, progress and performance will naturally follow.“
Running means different things to different people, and as a coach, I’d like to support whatever it is you’re looking for from your running.”
