In a few words, school is out for summer.
Yep, step forward Hannah and Deanna. I’m still bruised.
Summer training sessions are a bit of an unknown. You don’t know who is going to rock up. But tonight, 18 lovely runners ran. This included a few new runners, Di and Karen. The session was a brute. 10 repetitions up water end. Everyone ran like the wind. Up and down. The same effort up hill and down. The more I encouraged, the more I got back. Beautiful.
There was a plethora of performances. The elegant, the effective, the fast. All the same to me. Eye balls out and genuine. Yep, this was YPH alive and kicking. Urban. Edgy. Making the best of inner city facilities. We can’t hire a running track. And we don’t want to. Inner city beauty.
Of note was Greg’s downhill speed; Sue’s precision footwork; Sam’s endeavour; Karen’s will; Deanna and Hannah’s togetherness. Nicey nice. Yep, YPH is a way of life. I love it, hope you do to.
In the bar, I took a beating. 6 pints deep, the school teacher and art dealer smacked it hard. Ouch. I asked for help. Nothing. Just, we are off to the the Tavern. Lights out for me.
So, if you have not been down for a while, please get down soon. YPH miss you.
See you at the York 10K. I’m on the bridge.
Be happy, run happy.
Can’t wait to get back down, haven’t run since I injured my back at the knavesmire summer league race and it is killing me.
Miss you guys ❤️
